…not your typical teacher training.
April 5-11, 2026
Downtown Asheville, NC
Discover yourself in this pedagogy-focused, week-long training program designed for current and aspiring educators of Acro. Led by Blox, assisted by Christine Moonbeam, and featuring some very exciting guests, this transformative experience combines lectures, generative discussions, hands-on workshops, introspective exercises, and group activities to help you uncover and refine your unique teaching/coaching style. Journeying from instructor to teacher to coach to mentor, you’ll explore the delicate art of guiding others in edge work while learning to harness your voice, elevate your teaching acuity, and build meaningful connections with your students. Beyond the technical and ‘soft’ skills of being an educator, we’ll also tackle the practical side of running a successful education business. We’ll help you identify your strengths, nurture areas of growth, and call forward the elements that make your coaching distinct and impactful.

More Details:
Where, specifically?
The training will take place in the beautiful Masonic Temple, downtown Asheville, at 80 Broadway St. It has a lovely wood floor (with puzzle mats), high ceilings, lots of natural light, and 110-year-old charm.
Who is facilitating?
You will see the most of Blox. Christine will play a heavy role. Otherwise, we will bring in very exciting special guests - even non-acrobats! - to share on topics they have deep knowledge of.
Who is this for?
Teaching Experience: The program is geared towards folks who already have experience as an educator of Acro in some capacity; they teach a regular class, they coach private lessons, they teach at festivals etc. Admission is open to folks without Acro teaching experience, but ideally, they would have taught or coached something in their past. As well, everyone is strongly encouraged to create Acro teaching opportunities for themselves between acceptance into the program and participation.
Acro Prerequisites: in an effort to move away from the common standard that teachers must be able to embody the skills they ask of their students, at this time, Acro Educators does not require the physical ability to do any movement as a prerequisite. However, to attend this program it is essential that you understand the mechanics of the foundational poses and movements in the area of Acrobatics you wish to teach/coach. This is not a suitable training for beginners. You’ve gotta be able to do it, you used to be able to do it, or you’ve been coaching it for 5+ years so you know it inside and out.

What’s the Financial Investment?
Acknowledgement
We all are in different financial positions. To some the investment amount will be spent without noticing the money is gone. To others it requires saving and sacrifice. To others still, it is simply unrealistic without outside financial support. Being a socially conscious organization means we are faced with a lot of complex and challenging considerations when it comes to how to manage and price our offering. Our structure is imperfect, but please trust we have considered deeply and are doing our best to acknowledge and counterbalance systems of oppression and the resulting economic and opportunity disparity.

Please keep in mind, the whole point of a cancellation policy is to address that unexpected and possibly tragic thing causing you to cancel. Cancel within 30-10 days before the event: 75% refund OR sell your ticket to someone else and we will gladly transfer your registration, unless we sell out first.

What's the format?
Listening & Speaking: We will give lectures and facilitate group discussions on many topics ranging from communication skills to business success strategies to why you should give away your gold (what..?) and more.
Observation: watch and analyze us while coaching.
Practice: observe each other while coaching (sometimes not acro!) and exchange feedback. Some example focus points will be coaching private lessons, effective demos, coaching during rounds while students are practicing in a class
Class preparation: prepare class plans appropriate to your experience level as an educator, focusing on progressive skill planning and
Reflection: solo contemplation, worksheets, and responding to prompt questions.
How much Acro will we do?
Only as much as is needed to capture the essence of the lesson. Morning movement, maybe some free jamming to get our fix, and some performing of skills to support coaching practicums. This is a study of pedagogy and coaching techniques, not an Acro skills training. Expect to leave a better coach, not a better acrobat.
That said, we are exploring how to schedule the Acro Educators Training Program immediately before a Progressive Partner Acrobatics skills training program so folks can get their acro jollies and also witness coaching in real-time right after being steeped in pedagogy.
Is there a certification?
Given that there is no governing board for being an educator of Acro in the United States, our answer is, sure why not? If it is helpful to you to consider or present yourself as a ‘certified’ Acro coach under Acro Educators, the pedagogical arm of Progressive Partner Acrobatics, we’d be happy to supply documentation upon request.

Blox and Christine have been collaborting for a decade through Pitch Catch Circus, co-creating Traincations, and on the acro festival circuit both as teachers and festival producers.
Now they are joining forces to offer a brand new take on an Acro Teacher Training. The Acro Educators Training Program is a pedagogy-forward experience that draws out and enriches each teacher’s/coach's signature style while empowering them to uphold strong personal, professional, and community standards.
Blox supported emerging teachers with the company ‘Partner Acrobatics,’ offering 1 month long retreat style teacher trainings.
Christine co-founded a teacher training program called ‘LIFT School of Acrobatics,’ offering a 6 month teacher mentorship program.
These two share a deep love of learning and look forward to working with you on whatever form of teaching you are active in or want to grow into.
